Lead Magnet/Restricted Access

Hi! I’m stuck on Day 17. I can’t seem to find a way to add a pop-up that requires my readers to enter their email address before accessing my Lead Magnet for less than $9/month. Any suggestions on how to avoid this charge would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Assuming you are using constant contact to store the subscribers? and do you want the pop up to have any specific features? is it embedded at the end of a page? or on the sidebar?

Yes, I am storing my contacts on Constant Contact, but because I am still in the 60 day trial period, I am ineligible to use their pop-up feature. I verified this on the phone with Tony, my Constant Contact representative. So in order to complete Day 17, I tried to find another system that would allow a pop-up for restricting user access. Still no luck, so I just skipped that part of the Day 17 assignment and moved on. Several other 30DBC Challengers have voiced the same problem in the News Feed, so I’m comforted by knowing it isn’t just me. I can wait and add that feature when the 60 day trial is up at Constant Contact if I decide to go with their “paid” option.

We can see how that can be confusing. The idea is to attach the lead magnet to your autoresponder. No need for the pop up feature. Simply talk about your lead magnet, and tell your readers that they can sign in through the form on the sidebar. Let me know if that is clear.
We will update that lesson with more information soon.

Workaround: In WordPress dashboard navigate to Media->Add New and upload your file. Send this link to everyone who signup on to your email list manually.
