“Hidden Gems – Small Town Tales”

I’m from Canada and have fallen in love with all the stories that lay hidden in our many small towns. I think my blog is going to tell a few of them and reveal some of their magic at the same time … I guess I’ll see where that goes and hope it takes me somewhere interesting!

Thank you! One of my “fears” in Day 2 exercises is that no one else is interested in Canadian small towns … lol … I tend to bore people with my passion for it … so I really appreciate the encouragement!

I for one am very interested in Canadian small towns. I grew up in the US Midwest and have been living in a small town in Germany for the last 25 years. I am curious to know how the Canadian way of life in small towns compares with these other countries and cultures.

That sounds really great. It just came to my mind that it might help to add a kind of subtitle, so that the reader doesn’t think it is only one recipe. It could be something like Amazing Stuffed Pork Chops, and other wonders of the kitchen. Or something like that. I would certainly read it.

    Why Bother Going Zero Waste?

I am writing about my journey to becoming a zero waste home. I am not an activist of the cause, I don’t make my own granola and almond butter ๐Ÿ™‚ I am just an average citizen trying my hardest to do my part. Most people roll their eyes at this topic because it seems overwhelming to achieve. I want to share my imperfect actions to achieving this goal. One imperfect step is better than no step at all.

    Are You Eco-Friendly?

Such a beautiful and relevant mission, Kaitlin. We really do need to take better care of our planet. This topic definitely brings a lot of value to your blog and keeping the titles short and easy to read is a must! There are a few other eco-friendly blogs within our community so maybe why not start a forum just about the environment where you can exchange ideas and even create collaborations? Great work!

The title to my first blog is “Why should You go Green? I chose to write about this because I’m passionate about being kinder to Mother Nature. We only have one planet earth, and we won’t get another one. We better take care of her cause once shes had enough its gonna be devastated for all of us! I once wasn’t into this, until I started researching it, and realized trying to go zero waste isn’t impossible. Hard to do, but not impossible.

    What are you made of?

I am writing about my personal healing journey, the battle for my Soul quite literally. I was deeply abused, raped and traumatized for years. Beyond the physical attacks that were done to me, the real battle was for my Soul. Would I let these events harden me as a person and allow the fear and anger I felt daily become the story of my life? No way. I chose love and healing above all else.

I am passionate abuse ending abuses in relationships especially among immigrants in <st1:place w:st=”on”>North America</st1:place> hence my decision to start a blog. Many spouses are being killed or end up with mental health issues because they choose to stay in abusive relationships. Below is my 1st attempt please feel free to criticize me.

    Am I married?

If you were validly married outside of <st1:place w:st=”on”>North America</st1:place> your marriage remains valid after immigration. However, in this part of the world, marriage may not confer you with special benefits aside from probable reduction in your household taxes.

Many new immigrants to <st1:place w:st=”on”>North America</st1:place> view marriage as a must no matter how their spouses treat them. I ask why?

I have seen many ladies being physically and financially abused in their marriages and they say they are holding on to that marriage โ€œbecause of their childrenโ€

If you are being abused, get help before you get killed or become mentally retarded. Go to a shelter or ask for protection immediately.

My blog post title is “How to Create Momentum that Gets You Results in Auditions.” The gateway to nearly any serious music program, camp, festival, collegiate degree, orchestra or more is often initiated by an application and an audition. If a person’s auditions aren’t successful, then there isn’t much point in talking about what comes after if they can’t get past the first step. I want to help people through those tough auditions – I’ve been there, and they can really test the mind and spirit!

I am thinking of kicking it off with my Title being: “Why even bother?” I want to write about being a mum in these hectic times we live in. Times have changed and mums are working just as hard to look after their families etc. I am a mum of three very busy boys, while working full time. Sometimes you cannot help to wonder why even bother, no one even notices you in the house. You find yourself tired all the time, but come with a twist.. To the little people in your house, you are more than just mama, you are their world. What do you guys think about this approach? Being a mum is a universal language and I would just like to inspire or share my crazy life and why its important to keep doing what we do. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Ta

Hi Bianca! First of all, welcome and thank you so much for sharing with us. This is a great niche since it is a reality for a lot of women around the world. The title does have a bit of a negative connotation but it is catchy! If you plan to write a piece that ends on a good note I think the title works! If it will be more about the struggles of motherhood I would suggest trying a few other options. Nevertheless, it is a great topic and I can’t wait to see how it develops.

“Simple wabi-sabi thoughts that Will help improve your life”

I want to share more about Wabi-sabi, the Japanese mindset about accepting imperfection, impermanence, and incompleteness. As life continues, we tend to want to become “perfect” even though such a thing cannot exist. Still, such a mindset really messes our minds to look down on oneself. Wabi-sabi is a great mindset to have because organic limitations and imperfections are what creates our value as humans and I wanted to talk more about it in my blog.

This sounds so cool! I would be totally interested in reading a post like this. However, because I have never heard of wabi-sabi I don’t think I would click on the post while browsing. I would suggest something like “breaking the perfectionist mindset with this simple Japanese concept” or why wabi-sabi is exactly what every recovering perfectionist needs. I think if your title is something that addresses the problem wabi-sabi solves you would get a lot of traffic!

    Hi All!

My title is: Finding Voice – How to be heard.

I want to empower young people, particularly those who are normally quiet, to speak out about what they think is important. I am really passionate about this as I used to be really scared to share my views and ideas, particularly with adults, so I want to encourage and equip other young people to stand strong in what they believe and give them the confidence to raise issues that are important to them. I do get a fair bit of eye rolling, but I’m not a left wing radical wanting to overthrow the establishment ( laughy face), I just want to encourage others my own age to have a voice in society.

I spent way too much time overthinking about what to title my first blog post but then I remembered GOOD ENOUGH is the motto. So here goes!

‘5 Terrific reasons to use more natural products’

I decided to write about this because it is one of my main focuses on my blog and something that I want to look into more deeply. I personally really like using more natural products but this was just a decision I made based on the influence of people around me. With this post I want to look more into the hard facts and science behind using natural products on your body, in your food, and generally in life. I’m hoping to benefit myself as well as others with this information. Maybe it will even inspire others to change their habits of using chemical filled substances.

My first blog title is Home Deport Workshop Review. My blog is dedicated to sharing free and/or low cost family activities in an effort to promote family bonding. Money can serve as a barrier to families spending time with one another and I wanted to help those families find opportunities where they money was not an issue. Most of my events are in the Central Florida area, but as our family travels more, I hope to share resources nationwide.

Not just give up on a simple task, but in a deeper sense, they give up on themselves. I believe the value of making the choice to try leads people on a path to believing in themselves. To discover their resilience, determination, and personal wins gives them a foundation to catapult themselves in to even more success and higher self-awareness.

10 Things I Dislike About Plus Size Fashion – I chose this title as I am constantly frustrated by the ongoing dilemma I face as a big girl when it comes to shopping for clothes and how difficult it is for any big girl to have style and flair in the world of fashion when the styles on offer scream “don’t stand out”, “cover the bulge”, or my absolute favourite “hell to the no if you think you could pull off sexy”. Our society has embedded subliminal ‘ugly fat girl’ messaging in every inch of our lives that continue to reinforce negative thought patterns and behaviours that keep us big girls hating who we are and what we look like. But it doesn’t stop there, those same messages are reinforcing the same thoughts and behaviours for every woman I know. I plan to change that!

I went through all suggested titles and found none that fit or that resonated with me.

I chose this title because it summarises in 4 words the content of the first published blog, which actually gives the tone to what will follow. The plan is to dissect each of the 7 Pillars into their aggregates and week by week, attack one subject at a time.

Tell me what you think, please comment! Let me know HOW you think the title can be have greater impact.

Is Your Friendโ€™s Relationship Affecting Your Friendship?

I chose to write about this topic because I was beginning to see an increase of unhealthy relationship patterns rise among my group of friends and my friend’s friends. As these incidents took place I noticed women were willing to chose to be unhappy in their relationships with the wrong person than to nourish a healthy relationship with their friends and family out of fears of being lonley.

For my first blog post, I’ve decided to give it the title “How to Become Who You Are”. I’ve chosen this title because it has been something I’ve been trying to do for a while with fits and starts and it’s something I wish someone had led me to or shown me earlier in my life. I think it’s a good way of looking at one’s own life that puts control back in their own hands. While I’ll be covering a variety of topics with my blog, I think the connection is that all endeavors undertaken are in an effort to become who I am. This is why I’ve chosen that title.

    Hi everyone:-),

I have chosen to write to the title “10 Things You Should Never Do In A Restaurant”, because having worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years, there are so many things I observed and wanted to say to customers but couldn’t because I would have been fired. Ever wonder what servers and chefs talk about in the kitchen where the customers can’t hear them? I hope to express it in this article and maybe I can even make it amusing. We shall see.

The blog post I’m working on today is titled, “How to understand others: A leader’s quick assessment”. I have picked the niche of leadership for my blog and today I want to share an easy, fun assessment to gain an understanding of others. It is like a quick Meyers-Briggs personality test, but takes seconds. I enjoy teaching especially about leadership.

My first post is actually a question: “How many Brazilians live abroad” as a welcome / introductory post. The closest match I found from the templates was “Quiz: ___”, but it didn’t make sense to have a quiz with just one question.

With this first post, I want to inform people (Brazilians or not, immigrants or not) about how big is this community and how to find goods and services next to them.

I struggled a little with this one as I feel the title may be too long… but this is what I came up with:

7 Lightroom Tools All Beginners Need To Understand

I’ve always been interested in photography and have recently started learning how to edit in lightroom. I wanted to start putting all my lesson notes in one place so I can refer back to them. I feel like if I can simplify what I learn and make it fun to read for myself, then others might benefit from my notes too.

“Letโ€™s Face It, These Skincare Products Work”

It was really difficult brainstorming 25 different titles to choose from. Did anyone else struggle with this process? But I decided to follow the lesson exactly so I could get the most out of this experience.

I’m always on the search for great skincare and I wanted to write about a couple of products that are really tried and true. It took me research, time, money, and a lot of experimenting with my skin to find these products so I felt it was valuable information for those struggling with their skin or wasting money on products that don’t actually do what they are marketed to do.

The 1 Thing You Can Do to Make Work Suck Less.

I chose the title because it is the emphasis of everything that I hope to build my blog around – That we all have an opportunity to focus on making ourselves happier at work. There is a lot that goes into it, but it really starts with making a decision to focus on being happier at work and making it suck less.

Retired and GRUMPY…How Can That Be?
Over 40 years ago my parents retired to one of those “over 55” communities in Southern Florida as I stayed in the mid-west working and raising my young family. Through my parents, I quickly learned that a retirement lifestyle can be interesting at a minimum.

Fast forward 43 years later and I find my wife and I living in the same type of community in Central Florida…and now I get to live “interesting” first hand.

This title and first BLOG post will start the sharing process of retirement living in Central Florida.

“What in the World is a Knitting Coach?”

I teach knitting and I call myself a knitting coach, but I don’t think most people understand what that really is, so I wanted to write a post explaining what exactly is a “knitting coach”.

It’s basically someone who is able to come along side you and give you one-on-one guidance in what you are trying to accomplish in your knitting, whether that be to learn how to knit as a beginner, or to expand on your already growing knitting skills, or even to encourage you as you explore the joys of being a knitwear designer!

Title of my blog is “How To Completely Change Your Mindset”. The reason why I chose this title is because it resonates with me very well and I’m sure many others. Being naturally introverted and being surrounded by negativity most of my life, I found out that in order to create my own happiness and be satisfied myself was to surround myself with like minded people.I wanted to share with other people they are not alone and that striving to become the best version of yourself is a life long continuous journey.

“5 Effective Ways To Help You Live A More Positive Life”

I chose this title because I felt like it would be a good introduction overall into what my blog will be all about and the easiest to start with for a first blog post at this point in time. I was pretty personal with it, and I wrote about the things that have personally helped me start living a more positive life. I even included some helpful tips, reminders, and exercises. I plan on adding some more visual affects by including pictures as well, too. It’s written, but not ready to be viewed by the public eye yet in my opinion lol

How to start a business during a pandemic and help others.

My reason for starting this blog it two fold. I have a severe auto immune disease and have not left my house since March 16. I rely heavily on others to get me the things I need to live. I pay them for their help, even though some try to refuse. I also know a people who are out of work and need to provide for their family. Hello, so I decided on “How to Homeschool Without Stressing”. I decided this because we have known since my oldest has been 3 years old that we were going to homeschool but was clueless to how it all worked. I dived in and dived deep when he turned 3. I learned a lot and when the time started to count last year I was prepared. I want others to be as stress free about homeschooling as I was when the time counted.

My first title is, “Against all Odds, Making your Dream into a Reality!” I chose this title because I think we over utilize our history, familial, cultural, social, financial, environmental, and current events as crutches to not fulfill our dreams and desires. Got Your Personal Lie Detector (ld) On?

I chose this title because I hope it captures the readers’ interest. What if most everyone wore a personal lie detector on their wrist, as part of a watch, and if someone tells a lie, a red light flashes and it makes a blaring sound (anh, anh, anh)? You’re going to be asking people questions to see if they’re lying and to get to the truth. Many questions will have to be specific….like; “on a scale of one to ten, how would you rate….” But you get the idea. I want to write about hypothetical questions asked to newsmakers and questions everyday people would ask of people they interact with. And, I want to make it interactive so my audience can make comments about the content. So, this will be a blog for entertainment purposes; for people to think about who is lying and who is telling the truth.

“Surprising Benefits I Receive From Smoking Cigars” I chose this title because I want to share my personal experience as a woman who enjoys smoking cigars. I’m an avid cigar smoker and I’m often told how this activity is not for a female to partake in. Writing about why I choose to smoke cigars although health risks are present, I think can inspire other females to stand up for whatever activity they enjoy but feel they have to hide due to society’s views on whom the traditional consumer of such “thing” should be.
