Fear: I am afraid my readers might find my humor stupid instead of funny.

Empowering statement: Some readers will not quite understand my humor and others will laugh until they have a bellyache. It’s all a matter of taste. I will allow others to have their own opinion without being offended or disappointed.

Fear: I am afraid of possible legal problems.

Empowering statement: I will get good legal advice before I have my fictional character interview fictional characters created by other authors, i.e. I will get permission from the author.

Fear: I am afraid my blog will take up so much of my time that I will not be able to finish my other writing projects.

Empowering statement: It is exactly this blog which might help and motivate me in the end to finish my other writing projects. And the exposure might help me get my books published.

I for one am very interested in Canadian small towns. I grew up in the US Midwest and have been living in a small town in Germany for the last 25 years. I am curious to know how the Canadian way of life in small towns compares with these other countries and cultures.
